​Buzzcut Strings is a new kind of string quartet blurring boundaries, building bridges, and shaking up expectations. Rooted in classical tradition but driven by the energy of today’s music scene, the group is on a mission to explore what’s possible for the modern string quartet. With a passion for collaboration, they’re connecting with emerging voices from the rock and pop world friends, colleagues, and fellow creatives bringing strings into new spaces. Expect bold reimaginings of songs by Royal Blood, Father John Misty, and Billie Eilish, alongside fresh takes on classical greats that push beyond the norm.The quartet first came together while playing for the Liverpool Philharmonic Youth Orchestra. Since then, members have gone on to study at institutions including the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire, Royal Northern College of Music, Trinity Laban, and The Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts. Now reunited in their hometown of Liverpool, they’re creating music that reflects the energy of their generation fusing traditional technique with a 21st-century attitude.
